Blickling Hall

Blickling Hall was one of the first National Trust properties that we visited as a family in 2011. We were new and eager members and we incorporated the visit into our camping trip to Wells-next-the-Sea in North Norfolk. We all had such fond memories from the trip, especially because that was the holiday that I left my camera at home... (accidentally of course!).

We were hoping for a lovely, sunny, clear day for our trip and just like the rest of our holiday, it was dull, foggy and generally naff. We didn't let this get to us and it turns out that this was the best day that we had all holiday.

We started off our day with a trip to the second hand bookshop (where we spent a small fortune) and the WW2 museum. Then we had a very grand walk around the gardens, following the wonderful childrens trail for littleNTaddict.

The day that we visited, the house was themed in the Victorian era and there were lots of characters wandering around the house, fully in character. It was a marvel to see, like a fly on the wall of Downton Abbey!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day here, it is definitely one of our favourite properties that we have visited in the last 5 years and this time, I was very pleased to have my camera!
